Sunday 11/10 Taneytown’s St. Joseph’s Catholic Church invites all military to their Veterans Day all-you-can-eat old fashioned country breakfast fund raiser at St. Joseph’s Church Hall in Taneytown at 7am. The cost is $8.00 for adults, $4.00 children ages 7-10 and 6 & under eat free. Active, retired or discharged military persons only pay half price. All will be honored for their service. They are invited to bring their military memorabilia (photos, caps, uniforms, gear, etc.) for display at our head table and, if able, to dress in their military uniform. Sunday 11/10 the Weinberg Center for the Arts presents the US Air Force Band a premier symphonic wind ensemble of the United States Air Force at 3pm. Stationed at Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling in Washington, D.C., it features 53 active duty Airmen musicians. Thursday 11/14 a Detective from Frederick Co. Sheriff’s Office will talk about Safety Awareness at the Emmitsburg Fifty-Plus Center on S. Seton Ave. at 12:30 p.m.

Thursday 11/14 help out with a Fundraiser Night & Bake Sale at Roy Rogers in Thurmont from 5-8 p.m. Proceeds from any purchase will go towards the Thurmont Senior Center.

Friday 11/15 checkout Christmas Bingo at St. Anthony’s Shrine Upper Hall on St. Anthony Rd. just south of Mount St. Mary’s Doors open at 5 p.m. and the games begin at 6:30 p.m. Wear your Ugliest Sweater to win a contest.

Saturday 11/16 Elias Lutheran Church invites you to Swing Dance Date Night at the church in Emmitsburg. Grab your partner and get ready to Swing the night away! This fun, family-friendly, inter-generational community outreach event to benefit Elias ministries is sure to be a hit. The Leister Quartet will perform a sophisticated menu of Swing, Jazz, and Blues standards mixed with original compositions. The fun begins at 7pm Tickets are $10 for singles and $20 for couples, and may be purchased at the door. Refreshments will be provided or bring something to share.
