Sunday 2/23 you are invited to play Bingo to help raise money for the Maryland Express 18U Girls Softball team at the Lewistown Fire Hall on Hessong Bridge Rd in Lewistown. The doors open at noon and the games begin at 2 p.m. The cost is $30 in advance and $40 at door. Price includes 19 regular games, 1 jackpot coverall, 50/50 games & and one winner-take-all. Monday 2/24 you are invited to a Mardi Gras Lunch & Free Prize Bingo Sponsored by St. Joseph’s Ministries at the Thurmont Sr. Ctr. at 12 noon.

Monday 2/24 the Clothes Closet at Thurmont United Methodist Church opens once again from 6-7:30 p.m.

Tuesday 2/25 is Shrove Tuesday and that means a Pancake Supper at Harriet Chapel from 5-7 p.m. The cost is $7/adult and $4/ages 5-12 with ages 5 and under free.

Wednesday 2/26 the Catoctin Furnace Historical Society invites you to a Commemoration of Black History Month with “In Their Own Voices” at the Thurmont Regional Library from 11-1 p.m.

Wednesday 2/26 the Frederick County Public School system will hold its regular Board meeting at 6pm in the Central Office Board Room at 191 S. East Street in Frederick. The Board will hear and discuss the Superintendent’s report and take public comment on the future of the Sabillasville Elementary school.

Wednesday 2/26 you are invited to an Ash Wednesday Service at Harriet Chapel at 7 p.m.

Saturday 2/29 at 8am Mount Hope invites you to Maple Madness at Strawberry Hill. This is the annual Mount Hope Maple Madness maple sugaring festival where you will learn how trees are tapped, view sap-collecting methods past and present, and see the boiling process that produces delicious maple syrup. The festival features a delicious pancake breakfast buffet, PA maple syrup, tree to table tours and family-friendly activities.
