Forms are available at the Thurmont Food Bank for those wishing to receive Christmas gifts through the Ministerium’s Christmas Gift Program. Forms are also available for those who would like to sponsor a senior citizen or a family with children.

The Town of Thurmont and The Frederick County Society of Model Engineers are hosting Trains and Christmas decorations for your enjoyment at the Thurmont Plaza Shopping Center from 5 to 9pm on Wednesdays and 10am to 4pm on Saturdays. Admission to the display is free although they do welcome donations.

Also, the Town of Thurmont will have a Wood Christmas Ornament Decorating Craft for the kids. You can pick up your wooden ornament (in the shape of a train or gingerbread house) from the Town Office to take home to decorate during regular business hours.

Friday 12/4 checkout the Ben Jones Brass Christmas Carol Benefit Concert in
Gettysburg Square just outside the Gettysburg Hotel to benefit the Adams County Children’s Advocacy Center. The concert begins at 6pm

All weekend Friday 12/4 through Sunday 12/6 You are invited to the Door to Bethlehem at the National Basilica in Emmitsburg from 5 to 7:30pm This is a traditional Christmas walking tour with Mary & Joseph as they search for a place to stay in Bethlehem on the grounds of the Basilica. The cost is $6 per person and children under 6 are free.

Saturday 12/5 and Sunday 12/6 you are invited to take a ride on the Walkersville Southern Railroad at 11am, 1pm and 3pm. This is a 70-minute scenic ride in a temperature-controlled coach with a visit from Santa. Reservations are requested. To reserve your spot go online to The cost is $18 for adults $14 for kids and $17 for seniors.

Saturday 12/5 Enjoy an Evening of Christmas Music w/ Ruut DeMeo at ThorpeWood Retreat on Mink Rd. west of Thurmont in the mountains. Seating is limited to reserve a seat call 301-271-2823 x100.
