COMMUNITY CIRCLE EVENT CALENDAR FOR THIS WEEK

Saturday & Sunday the Frederick Children’s Chorale invites you to their Winter Concert “Joy of Children” at the St. Katherine Drexel Catholic Church on Opposumtown Pike in Frederick 7:30pm on Saturday and 2pm on Sunday.  The cost is $20 for adults and $15 for students and seniors.  Tickets can be purchased in advance for a discount.  For more information, go online to fredcc.org

Sunday enjoy a Christmas Cantata at Weller United Methodist Church on N. Altamont Ave. in Thurmont with music by their choir & also with handbells at their 10 a.m. service.

Sunday the Emmitsburg Community Chorus will perform at Homewood at Crumland Farms in Frederick at 7 p.m.

Monday you are invited to free prize Bingo sponsored by St. Joseph’s Ministries at the Thurmont Sr. Ctr. from 2 to 3pm

Tuesday is Take-a-Tour Tuesday at the Mother Seton School in Emmitsburg from 9 a.m.-1 p.m.

Tuesday enjoy a special performance by Kip of Forever Young at the Thurmont Sr. Ctr. from 1-2 p.m. Donate a canned or nonperishable food item for the Thurmont Food Bank if able.

Tuesday the Emmitsburg Community Chorus will perform at Creagerstown Union Chapel at 7 p.m. A free-will offering will be collected.

Wednesday the Seton Center invites you to their continuing Build Your Resources workshops from 4:30 to 6pm at the Emmitsburg Library on S. Seton Ave. The topic will be Small Steps to Health and Wealth.  Registration is required, call 301-447-6102 x17.

Wednesday have fun taking the Christmas Lights Van Ride leaving the Thurmont Sr. Ctr. from 6-8 p.m. Call Teresa at 301-271-7911 to sign up.

Wednesday enjoy “Christmas Bells, Brass, and Voices” at the Graceham Moravian Church from 7-8 p.m.

Thursday attend a Hello Holidays: Gingerbread House Workshop at the Thurmont Regional Library at 6 p.m. Use festive candies, frosting, graham crackers, and more to make your own gingerbread house. Call 301-600-7200 for more information

Friday or Saturday enjoy a Country Christmas with Forever Young at the Green Grove Gardens event complex in Greencastle PA from 6 to 9pm. The cost is $28.50 per adult and includes a delicious “farmhouse, family style” dinner with the concert. Friday through Sunday there will be two presentations of Charles Dickens classic The Christmas Carol in our region; one at the Weinberg in Frederick at 7:30 on Friday and 2pm and 7:30 Sat. & Sun., and the other at the Totem Pole Playhouse in Fayetteville PA Friday at 8pm and Sat. at 2 & 8pm and finally Sunday at 2pm.

Friday at 7pm the fun returns once again with Gettysburg’s Annual Holiday Tuba Carol Fest. Tuba players from around the country will join together to play Christmas carols on historic Lincoln Square in Gettysburg. It’s truly a magical performance as crowds gather to join in the merriment and come together to sing holiday tunes.

Friday it’s Christmas Through the Ages, with The Gettysburg Choral Society’s second annual holiday concert at 7:30pm The concert will explore the transformation of Christmas music from the early Greek and Latin liturgical roots through the popular 19th and 20th century English and German carols we all love to hear. Hosted by Trinity United Church of Christ, there will be a dessert reception following the concert in Fellowship Hall. A love offering donation is appreciated.

Saturday Santa will be making the rounds for breakfast at the Guardian Hose Co. and the American Legion on Park Lane in Thurmont from 8am to noon. The cost is $5 per person.

Saturday enjoy a Christmas Church Tour starting at the Foxville Schoolhouse on Foxville Deerfield Rd. in Sabillasville from 1-5 p.m.

Saturday celebrate the Adams County Arts Council’s 25th anniversary and enjoy festive cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, a full course dinner with wine, live and silent auctions, and dancing at the Jingle Ball at the Gettysburg Museum and Visitor Center on Baltimore Pike from 6 to 11pm.
